What I collect, why, and what you can ask me to do with it. I keep it to what I need to teach you.

Who I am

English with Kiz is my one-to-one English tutoring service. I'm responsible for the personal data described here. For any privacy question or request, email me at englishwithkiz0@gmail.com.

What I collect and why

  • Contact form. Your name, email address and message, so I can reply. The form is handled by Netlify, which hosts this website.
  • Bookings. When you book, Cal.com collects your name, email address and chosen time, and sends you the Google Meet link. Paid lessons are paid through Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe and I never see them.
  • Lessons. Lessons take place on Google Meet. I keep notes on your progress so I can plan your next lessons.
  • Website analytics, only if you accept. Google Analytics tells me which pages people visit, roughly where they are and what device they use. It does not tell me who you are. It only runs if you click Accept in the cookie box.

I use your details to answer your messages, arrange and teach your lessons, and keep the records the law requires. I never sell your data or use it for advertising.

Cookies and storage

  • Analytics cookies (names starting with _ga) are set by Google Analytics only after you accept. They last up to two years.
  • Your settings are saved in your browser: light or dark mode, your language and your cookie choice. They never leave your device.

You can change your mind at any time:

Pages also load fonts from Fontshare and Google Fonts, and the intro video plays from Vimeo with tracking turned off. These services receive your IP address so they can send the files to your browser.

How long I keep it

Messages and lesson notes are kept while we work together and deleted within a year after our last lesson, unless you ask me to delete them sooner. Booking and payment records are kept for as long as UK tax law requires.

Your rights

You can ask me for a copy of your data, or ask me to correct or delete it, or to stop using it. Email me and I'll reply within one month. If you're unhappy with how I handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
